About The Position

A Homemaker is recognized as a mature, responsible individual who has been trained to provide a variety of support services as outlined below, which are necessary to maintain a disabled or dependent person safely and comfortably within the home setting. Guardian Angel Senior Services, Inc. cannot guarantee any number of hours in any given week. The agency cannot guarantee work close to home or within walking distance or on a bus line. The employee is responsible to have his/her own transportation at all times during shifts worked. The employee must be willing to get certified as PCA or HHA in order to fulfil your desired schedule.

Requirements

• Is at least 18 years old.
• Must have access to internet
• Driver's License
• On hand reliable vehicle
• Is flexible, sensitive to the needs of others, reliable, and able to cope with emergencies.
• willing to successfully complete the required 60 Hour- Personal care training program as well as the 40-hour Homemaker training or its equivalent for Home Health Aide Training and has demonstrated competency.
• Is able to read, write, and speak English.
• Is able to carry out and understand directions and instructions.
• Is able to record messages and document daily activities.
• Is physically and emotionally capable of performing the job. Refer to physical specifications.

Nice To Haves

• Prior home care experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Performs household services such as: Planning, preparing, and serving meals
• Purchasing food and household supplies
• Making and changing beds
• Cleaning and dusting household supplies
• Mopping floors (with a mop) and vacuuming
• Cleaning bathroom and kitchen
• Washing dishes
• Laundering, sewing, and ironing
• Taking trash and recycles out.
