About The Position

Right At Home In Home Care, located in Wallingford CT is currently seeking professional vaccinated Homemakers, HHA's, Companions, CNA's, & PCA's, to provide care to our elderly clients in the convenience of their homes. The ideal candidate should have 6 months or more of documented caregiving experience. Targeted areas: Wallingford, Meriden, Middletown, Southington, Cheshire, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Watertown, Woodbury, Plymouth, Terryville, and surrounding areas. Great opportunity for high school seniors, college students, retirees, and veterans. You don't mind getting a little dirty...this could include (but not limited to) assistance with eating, personal hygiene, assistance with dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, laundry, and other household chores. You don't have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen. You are able to assist the client in many ways, this could include (but are not limited to), medication reminders, assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises, dementia care, companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc. Right at Home's mission is simple...to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Valid Driver's license and auto insurance
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have the ability to pass a full employment background check
  • Must have basic computer skills and navigate with little assistance from others
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
  • Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
  • Must have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies
  • Current CPR Certificate is recommended
  • 6 months experience as a Home Health Aide in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State-approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course.

Nice To Haves

  • CNA or HHA Certification
  • 6 months or more experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare preferred
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Covid Vaccination and ability to provide card

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to elderly clients in their homes.
  • Assistance with eating, personal hygiene, dressing, and shaving.
