About The Position

The Home Visitor/Parent Educator is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population while maintaining compliance with established program standards. This role involves outreach, recruitment, and establishing trusting relationships with families, utilizing the evidence-based Safecare curriculum, and providing intensive case management services. The position also includes administering assessments, implementing goals with parents, providing education and referrals, and maintaining detailed records.

Requirements

  • Maintain certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
  • Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach and recruitment of participants for the THV program.
  • Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
  • Utilize the Safecare curriculum with caregivers, which is evidence-based.
  • Report to the Program Director to be coached on required Safecare recordings with caregivers.
  • Administer intake, assessments, and screening tools to clients and family members.
  • Utilize intake and assessment results to establish and effectively implement goals, objectives, and activities identified with parents.
  • Provide intensive case management services to families.
  • Provide parent and health education, case management, resource and referrals, basic needs support, transportation assistance, and/or other support services to families on caseload.
  • Conduct systematic follow-ups for all families.
  • Create and set-up required events on monthly calendar.
  • Record all group and individualized services and activities in a complete, concise, and timely manner utilizing program forms into PEIRS (DFPS), Salesforce, and (BCFS) software.
  • Attend all required trainings.
