About The Position

The Home Training HHD Registered Nurse evaluates and trains the dialysis facility’s home patients, care partners, and families for the home hemodialysis program. This position exercises knowledge of patient rights and ensures an atmosphere that allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all patients in a safe, secure environment. The position must demonstrate familiarity with hemodialysis equipment, procedures, and the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to assume the responsibility of caring for the dialysis patient. This is a shared postion between Rome, Oneida and Chenango. Primary clinic will be determined on hire (based on where they live).

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Nurse with current state licensure.
  • Twelve (12) months of experience in nursing.
  • Meets all applicable state/licensing requirements.
  • Additional three (3) months of experience in the specific modality unless otherwise specified in specific state regulations.
  • Documented training and experience in peritoneal dialysis and/or home hemodialysis and maintenance of the dialysis access.
  • Basic training certificates if less than one (1) year in this modality.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively with clients and fellow employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory and teaching experience preferred.
