About The Position

Supported Lifestyles is seeking a dedicated Home Supervisor to join its caring and diverse team. This role involves direct support to front-line staff in group home environments, ensuring the delivery of quality, specialized client services in accordance with the agency's mission, philosophy, and standards. The Home Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of the group home, acting as a leader in a fast-paced environment where their leadership directly shapes the quality of care provided.

Requirements

  • A 2-year diploma in a related field (e.g., Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, etc.) or a degree in any discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges.
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience providing behavioural supports to clients.
  • Experience providing personal care (e.g., assisting with bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Access to a personal vehicle is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the group home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and high-quality environment for individuals in service.
  • Manage scheduling for front-line staff to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate front-line staff, providing ongoing guidance and support.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff in accordance with organizational policies and position standards.
  • Communicate regularly with families, guardians, and multidisciplinary team members regarding individual client needs and progress.
  • Respond to crisis situations as required, applying de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Deliver quality, specialized client services in accordance with Supported Lifestyles' mission, philosophy, agency, and position standards.
  • Provide direct support to individuals in service as needed, including behavioural and emotional support and personal care.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of client records, case notes, and reports.
  • Identify and address opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery.
