Impact a life. Build a Legacy. Smoky Mountain Children’s Home is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Home Study Writer for a subcontracted service (Independent Subcontractor, 1099). The primary role is to complete comprehensive home studies for prospective foster parents. This position offers a flexible work schedule established based on the needs of the families in coordination with your availability.

Requirements

• Education: Must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Certification: Must be certified to write home studies in the state of Tennessee.
• Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with proven ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assessment & Visits: Arrange and coordinate two to three home visits with prospective foster parents as a core part of the assessment process
• Documentation: Obtain, organize, and ensure the absolute completeness of all required documentation for each home study.
• Timely Submission: Ensure all completed home studies are submitted within 60-days from the date the study is assigned.
• Collaboration: Maintain prompt communication with the Foster Home Compliance Coordinator to resolve any issues or concerns that arise during the process.
