Requirements

  • Communicate proficiently in Spanish, both orally and in writing.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with childcare providers while maintaining compliance standards.
  • Conduct timely, accurate inspections and maintain complete, audit-ready documentation.
  • Effectively communicate licensing, health and safety, and program requirements in a manner that is clear, respectful, and supportive.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment when identifying compliance concerns and recommending corrective actions.
  • Consistently meet productivity standards, inspection schedules, and reporting deadlines.
  • Serve as a trusted resource by providing technical assistance, guidance, and training to childcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate records within NJCCIS and other required systems.
  • Promote the health, safety, and well-being of children through consistent monitoring and education.
  • Represent PfP professionally in the community and contribute to positive relationships with providers, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends, sharing observations, and contributing to department goals.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Ability to carry/lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience in human services or the child development industry (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and conducting home inspections.
  • Scheduling and conducting Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training.
  • Ensuring compliance with Child Abuse and Criminal History Record Checks.
  • Uploading/syncing completed inspection reports to the database.
  • Communicating with the Director when pre-enforcement and/or enforcement is recommended.
  • Explaining provider eligibility requirements and providing technical assistance.
  • Providing orientation training and disseminating health and safety information.
  • Organizing and maintaining files in audit-ready condition.
  • Participating in staff meetings and professional development as required.
  • Maintaining, securing, and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Providing other related duties as requested, assigned, or directed to meet the needs of the Department.
