Home Infusion - Registered Nurse
About The Position
CVS Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide home infusion services in Albany and surrounding areas. The role offers an opportunity to use clinical nursing skills in a specialized home-care setting, building one-on-one relationships with patients and their families while providing infusion therapies in patients’ homes. Nurses receive ongoing training in specialty infusion technology and clinical requirements. Eligible certification and recertification expenses, including those for CRNI certification, may be reimbursed. The nurse provides infusion care and patient education according to the physician’s plan of treatment, using clinical IV experience and a compassionate approach to support patients recovering at home. The position includes patient visits and travel, with drives of up to two hours possible; hourly pay applies to both patient and drive time. Additional licensure may be needed in multi-state service areas. This is a 40-hour-per-week, full-time role. Hours are mostly during the day but may extend into the evening. Telephonic on-call duty is approximately five days per year, with no in-person visits while on call. The position requires participation in the on-call rotation as staffing and business needs indicate.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in New York.
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- At least one year of infusion or IV experience, including strong IV insertion skills.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and Word for documenting and tracking patient care activity.
- Ability to participate in the on-call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.
- RN diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Excellent written and verbal customer service skills for interacting with patients, physicians, pharmacists, and other partners.
Nice To Haves
- Home healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
- CRNI certification is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide a broad range of infusion therapies in patients’ homes.
- Deliver one-on-one home infusion nursing care and patient education in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment.
- Use clinical IV experience and a compassionate approach to support patients receiving care at home.
- Travel to patients in Albany and surrounding areas, including drives of up to two hours at times.
- Participate in the telephonic on-call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.
- Document and track patient care activity using Microsoft Office applications.
