About The Position

The Home Helper assists clients in their private residences with personal services, transportation, housekeeping, and/or meal preparation. Personal services may include bathing and dressing, hygiene services, exercise, medication reminders, companionship, and personal appearance care. Transportation may include travel to and from appointments, errands, shopping, and other destinations. Housekeeping may include laundry, light housekeeping, organizing and downsizing, recycling, and changing linens. Meal preparation may include meal preparation and grocery shopping. This is a part-time role for 16 to 24 hours per week. The schedule is flexible on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; weekends and holidays are not required.

Requirements

Must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in routine and emergency situations.
Must be self-motivated and able to function as an “in-charge person”.
Must relate to clients, staff, and clients’ families in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Regular attendance is required.
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
