About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Home Health & Hospice Billing Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of home health and hospice billing, insurance verification, claims processing, and reimbursement procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of Home Health and/or Hospice billing experience required
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing guidelines
- Experience with claims submission, payment posting, and collections
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in billing software and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- Process and submit Home Health and Hospice claims accurately and timely
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims
- Post payments and reconcile accounts receivable
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
- Assist with month-end billing and reporting activities
