About The Position

A Home Health and Hospice Authorization Specialist obtains and manages insurance authorizations to support timely start and continuation of home health and hospice services. This is a remote position located in Sandy, UT.

• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

• Degree preferred
• 1+ year of authorization or healthcare administrative experience preferred
• Knowledge of Home Health/Hospice and insurance plans (Medicare/Medicaid/commercial) preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain initial and ongoing authorizations for home health and hospice services
• Verify eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements via phone and payer portals
• Submit authorization requests accurately and within required timeframes
• Track authorization status and follow up on pending requests
• Review documentation for completeness prior to submission
• Communicate approvals, denials, and updates to intake and clinical teams
• Maintain accurate records in EMR systems and payer portals

• Perform other duties as assigned
