About The Position

Iowa Home Care is hiring compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants to provide in-home support to patients throughout the Des Moines area. Rather than working with a large group of patients in a facility, you’ll have the opportunity to provide personal, one-on-one care in a patient's own home. You’ll help with daily activities, personal care, mobility, and other needs while providing companionship and encouragement along the way. Your presence can make it possible for someone to remain comfortable, safe, and independent at home. Part-Time Opportunities Available

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and insurance required.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to client safety and well-being.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • CNA certification in good standing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in home care, nursing home, or hospital settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and other personal care needs
  • Provide assistance with walking, transfers, positioning, and mobility
  • Assist with toileting and other elimination needs
  • Provide catheter and G-tube care as directed and within applicable training and scope
  • Obtain and document vital signs as assigned
  • Assist with light household tasks that support a safe and comfortable living environment
  • Help with laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and other light housekeeping related to patient care
  • Follow established infection prevention, safety, and PPE procedures
  • Observe patients for changes in condition, behavior, or needs and report concerns promptly to the appropriate nurse
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
  • Respect each patient's privacy, preferences, routines, and dignity
  • Work closely with the nursing team to ensure care is consistent with the patient's plan
