Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Location: Wayne, Detroit, Canton, Monroe, and Romulus, MI Love your job at last! As a Home Health COTA, you will work directly with patients in their homes to help them regain independence with daily activities. You will implement treatment plans developed by an Occupational Therapist, playing a key role in helping patients safely return to their routines in a familiar environment. Requirements

  • Licensed COTA in the State of Michigan.
  • Home Health experience preferred (but not required).
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to patient homes within the assigned service area (Wayne, Detroit, Canton, Monroe, Romulus).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional organization and time management.
  • Empathy and compassion for patients recovering from injury or illness.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage patients through rehabilitation.
  • Focus on evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
  • Confident, reliable, and resourceful.
  • An excellent communicator who connects with patients personally.

Nice To Haves

  • Home Health experience preferred (but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide skilled OT interventions (ADLs, fine motor skills, coordination) in patient homes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home safety, adaptive equipment, and exercises.
  • Accurately document patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Communicate status effectively with the supervising OT and healthcare team.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and clinical guidelines.
