Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Home Health Aide, Companion, or similar role in the healthcare sector.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid is essential.
  • Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards.
  • Proficiency in maintaining sanitary and safe living environments.
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job, including assisting in lifting and transferring clients, as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, which may be necessary for client transport.
  • Empathy and the ability to care for the client's social, emotional, physical, and mental health.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Trustworthy and respectful with the ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Capability to manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized daily care to clients according to their individual care plans.
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Prepare meals considering clients’ preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Help maintain a safe and clean living environment for clients.
  • Monitor and document clients’ progress or any changes in their condition in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide companionship and engage in conversations to keep clients mentally healthy and alert.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and oversee their effects.
  • Perform daily vital signs checks if required and report anomalies.
  • Accompany clients to appointments or social events to ensure their well-being during transit and from place to place.
  • Effectively communicate with family members and other team members about clients’ status and care.
  • Manage emergency situations with composure and report any emergencies to relevant authorities or family members immediately.
