About The Position

Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides in Stark and Summit County, Ohio. The start time depends on your background and qualifications, with options for those with an STNA license, HHA certificate, prior caregiving experience, or those new to the field who will receive free training. Most clients are in the Akron area (Summit County), but opportunities exist in Stark County as well. The role involves assisting clients, primarily older adults, with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship. This is a physical role requiring you to be on your feet and assist with client mobility. Home Health Aides do not administer medication or perform medical tasks, which are reserved for nurses. The company offers a W-2 employment status with direct deposit and paid drive time between clients.

Requirements

  • Driver's license
  • Own car with insurance that covers work driving
  • Pass background checks
  • Work at least 20 hours/week
  • Available between 6AM-8PM
  • Legal right to work in the US
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • STNA license (active or expired) OR
  • HHA certificate (30+ hours, signed by RN unless online)
  • 1+ year of experience working under an RN or LPN (e.g., in nursing homes, hospitals, Medicare-certified home health agencies, or assisted living with licensed nurses)

Nice To Haves

  • Open to working in both Stark and Summit counties for faster start and more hours.
  • Flexibility in client limits (pets, smoking, travel distance, days, times) can lead to a faster start.
  • Ability to complete free 32-hour online HHA training from home within 6 days.
  • Passing an HHA test elsewhere with 80% or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, getting dressed, and meal preparation.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties.
  • Run errands for clients.
  • Provide companionship to clients.
  • Assist clients with moving around.
  • Follow company policies and client care plans.
  • Report incidents within 24 hours.
  • Maintain communication with the office, including answering calls and texts promptly.
  • Submit updated documents (insurance, license, training) when requested.
  • Complete feedback forms when sent.
