About The Position

Giving Home Health Care has been supporting individuals impacted by health conditions related to their work in nuclear facilities for the Department of Energy since 2012. Giving Home Health Care is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and confident 1099 home health caregiver to provide support for a male DOL patient in the home setting. The ideal candidate will be patient-centered, adaptable, and comfortable working with a client who has established routines and specific preferences regarding his care and home environment.

Requirements

  • Current CPR, First Aid, and 2-Step TB Test
  • Prefer experience in a clinical care setting, home health preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Prolonged standing and walking required, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move patients.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Prior home health, hospice, or DOL experience preferred but not required
  • Patient-centered, adaptable, and comfortable working with a client who has established routines and specific preferences regarding his care and home environment.

  • Able-bodied and comfortable assisting with mobility and outdoor activities
  • Strong communication skills and professional boundaries

Responsibilities

  • Light housekeeping
  • Assistance preparing beverages and daily comfort items
  • Companion care and supervision during outdoor activities
  • Safety standby while patient performs yard work and uses golf cart
  • General support with activities of daily living as appropriate
  • Encourage independence while providing assistance as needed
  • Executes physician prescribed plans of care and compliant documentation of care provided in system of record.
  • Administers prescribed treatments, and therapies.
  • Performs patient assessments, coordination of care.
  • Performs various activities associated with daily living, communications, and monitoring of vitals while working at the patient’s home.
  • Will be working with patients in a comfortable environment where the service is one-on-one.
  • Communicates with family members, doctors, and other prescribed individuals regarding the health of patients.
  • Performs other personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs.
