About The Position
You will be tasked with helping patients with personal hygiene, minor medical needs, housekeeping, and other daily needs as required by the patient. To excel in this role, you should have an interest in healthcare and the ability to work with limited supervision keeping the patient’s needs as your top priority.
Requirements
- Literate, emotionally mature adult in good health possessing integrity, poise, dignity, and good grooming
- Current, valid NYS Driver’s License
- CNA or HHA Certification
- Ability to read, write and follow oral/written instructions in English
- Ability to document care given, record messages, keep simple records
- Ability to speak the predominant language of the resident
- Sympathetic attitude towards providing services for residents
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact tactfully with clients, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public
Nice To Haves
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Helping patients with personal hygiene

- Performing housekeeping duties
- Addressing other daily needs as required by the patient
- Participating in 12 hours of in-service education per year as required by New York State regulations
- Being trained in medication assistance and demonstrating competency
