About The Position

This is a full-time position at the Lititz Pike Home & Garden Store, with flexible day, evening, and weekend availability required. The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager and department managers in the overall operation of the division, including merchandising, purchasing and promotions, cash management, scheduling, training, events, equipment maintenance, and inventory accuracy. This is a working-manager role, requiring the employee to perform tasks needed to ensure smooth operations. The company is local and family owned and offers on-the-job training, leadership classes, and opportunities for internal career growth.

Requirements

Ability to work an average of 45–50 hours per week and adjust the schedule to workload.
Willingness to transfer to any SKH location as needed.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

Previous managerial experience in a similar environment.

Responsibilities

Communicate with Buyers regarding merchandising, new product implementation, and appropriate pricing, and promptly follow through on Buyer directions.
Assist department managers at trade shows with purchasing and promoting products to maximize sales.
Help coordinate department activities, including cash management, employee scheduling, and employee training, to improve operational efficiency.
Assist the General Manager with overall supervision of departmental employees.
Coordinate promotions and special store events, including event setup and execution.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair, as well as employee training regarding equipment.
Work as a manager while performing tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the division.
Review divisional inventory for accuracy and compliance.
