About The Position

The Home Furnishings Associate contributes to profitable sales growth by applying product knowledge and a service-oriented approach to build customer relationships and meet sales goals. The role includes assisting customers with product selection, explaining product attributes and care or protection plans, recommending additional products, and supporting customer participation in credit, rewards, and gift card programs.

The associate also supports store operations by participating in inventory processes and merchandise transfers, handling returns to vendors or warehouses and defective merchandise, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and completing pricing and signing processes in specialty businesses. The role supports company shrink and safety initiatives and requires consistently meeting performance standards for customer service, sales, profit, productivity, attendance, and the iCAP program. Qualified merchandise earns 1% commission on net sales.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and help them find products while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Explain product attributes and care or protection plans, and suggest additional products.
• Meet or exceed sales goals and productivity standards.
• Partner with team members and actively listen to customer issues.
• Promote FindMore and assist with credit, rewards, and gift card programs, including engaging customers in the credit application process.
• Participate in inventory processes and merchandise transfers, including returns to vendors or warehouses and handling defective merchandise.
• Maintain the sales floor recovery process to keep the store clean and organized.
• Complete pricing and signing processes in specialty businesses.
• Support company shrink and safety initiatives.
• Meet established performance standards, including standards for iCAP, product and service sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
