About The Position

We operate in a mission-driven, child-focused environment where safety, accountability, and relationship-building are critical: Foster and adoptive homes are thoroughly assessed, supported, and maintained. Children are placed in safe, stable, and nurturing environments. Licensing and compliance standards are consistently met. Families receive ongoing training, guidance, and support throughout the process. You will support foster/adoptive families by conducting home studies, maintaining licensing requirements, coordinating training, and helping ensure children receive safe and supportive placements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human services field required
  • Minimum of 3 years postgraduate social work experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Possess knowledge of theories and practices in social work and state and federal laws.
  • Possess the ability to assess needs in the areas of social, educational, and economic circumstances to determine service needs.
  • Have knowledge and skills to utilize community and state resources.
  • Be able to communicate and work effectively with agency personnel and community and state agencies in a productive and professional manner
  • Have the ability to complete thorough written reports and data entry.
  • Can adhere to all guidelines and time requirements as stated in policy related to home finding.
  • Be an acceptable role model for youth values and lifestyles and in keeping with those ascribed by Burlington.

Responsibilities

  • Complete foster/adoptive home studies and annual reviews
  • Conduct face-to-face visits, interviews, and follow-up communication
  • Assess family strengths, needs, and suitability for placement
  • Prepare thorough home study narratives and supporting documentation
  • Complete annual Health & Safety reviews
  • Ensure foster/adoptive homes remain compliant with agency and state requirements
  • Develop corrective action plans when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in PATH and Extended Reach
  • Submit reports, certificates, and required paperwork within deadlines
  • Respond to foster home emergencies and urgent family needs
  • Provide guidance and support to foster/adoptive families throughout the licensing process
  • Organize and facilitate annual foster parent training programs
  • Coordinate Pressley Ridge Therapeutic Foster Care training curriculum
  • Provide retraining and support to address concerns within foster homes
  • Participate in weekly foster family recruitment activities
  • Represent the agency at community outreach events, panels, open houses, and health fairs
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective foster/adoptive families
  • Distribute application materials and informational packets
  • Attend MDT and treatment planning meetings as needed
  • Coordinate with treatment coordinators, therapists, and agency staff
  • Complete monthly tracking forms and data reporting
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready records
  • Drive to foster homes, meetings, trainings, and community events as needed
  • Support accreditation and licensing standards
  • Participate in supervision and professional development activities
  • Perform additional duties related to foster/adoptive home services
