About The Position

Conduct on-site technical assistance visits to ensure compliance with the program’s installation procedures and efficiency standards. Visits will involve the use of diagnostic equipment such as blower door tests, manometers, or infrared cameras in order to determine the most cost-effective measures appropriate for each home. Assesses subcontractor performance and determines compliance with approved program operating plans and requirements. Responsible for preparing weatherization reports and conducting final inspections for each home. Must maintain required certification to conduct Final Inspections on DOE units.

Requirements

BPI Quality Control Inspector Certified
High School diploma or GED.
Able to conduct inventories.
Valid driver’s license, a safe driving record.
Able to pass a pre-employment physical and criminal history background check.
Two years working in a construction setting and/or office.
Experience operating general office equipment.
Understand principles, methods, and practices of weatherization construction.
Basic computer skills.
Good writing and oral communicative skills.
Analytical ability to detect and resolve errors.

Nice To Haves

Experience doing energy audits, along with knowledge of basic building science.
Associate's degree in business or a related field.

Responsibilities

Conducting required assessments and testing of residential housing for health, safety, and energy upgrades and completing final inspections of work performed.
Quality control for final inspections and implementation of all measures conducted under the program according to federal and state requirements.
Review all work, testing, and documentation prior to leaving the home for compliance with grant guidelines.
Train weatherization participants on techniques and methods in conserving energy.
Filling out Building Work Orders completely and accurately for each assigned case.
Filling out Building Weatherization Reports (BWRs) completely and accurately for each assigned case.
Maintain positive working relations with the contractors.
Mentoring WAP Specialists in technical processes and procedures in the field.
Mentoring WAP Specialists in Work Orders and Building Weatherization Reports.
