About The Position

Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty one neighbor at a time. Through safety-net services and asset building solutions, Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC) creates economic mobility opportunities for tens of thousands of people annually through programs such as energy assistance, early education and care, financial empowerment, positive youth development, and career pathways. WCAC serves 45 towns in Central and South-Central Massachusetts with offices located in Worcester, Southbridge, Webster, and East Brookfield. We are a team of 125 employees and an annual budget of approximately $40 million. WCAC has contracts with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the major local utility companies to install energy conservation measures in eligible homes. The Home Energy Auditor will evaluate properties and provide energy savings opportunities to participants. The scope of work includes the evaluation, coordination, and quality completion of Energy Efficiency Improvements including Weatherization, Appliance Replacements, Heating System upgrades including Air Source Heat pumps.

Requirements

High School Diploma or HiSet equivalent required.
1-2 years of experience in the energy conservation or construction field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn software and databases used by WCAC.
Self-directed, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse individuals, families, co-workers, and community partners.
Customer service oriented; strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive outlook and empathetic style.
Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Ability to successfully complete a National Grid’s background check process, including drug screen.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Successful candidate must complete required training and certifications within 18 months of hire.

Ability to speak Spanish or other languages, a plus.
