About The Position

As a Home Delivery Driver for Mom’s Meals, you help ensure customers receive their meals for the upcoming week. You load and unload prepacked meal boxes from designated cold storage and deliver them to customers’ homes, sometimes bringing meals inside. Prompt, safe delivery and excellent customer service are important to reflecting Mom’s Meals’ Core Values. The schedule is a four-day work week, Tuesday through Friday, with a 6:30 a.m. start time. Pay is $22.50 per hour, with a monthly bonus opportunity. A company truck is provided. The position is located at 1301 26th Ave E., Tacoma, WA 98424. Employment is contingent on successfully passing a post-offer drug screen and background check, where permitted by law, as well as an MVR lookup.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving (DMV) record.
Have good communication skills and be able to speak, read, and write English.
Be able to sufficiently operate a smartphone.
Be familiar and comfortable with GPS routing.
Have basic math skills.
Be able to drive in various weather and traffic conditions and work in variable weather conditions.
Have prior experience adhering to company policies and demonstrating core values.
Pass a post-offer drug screen and background check.
Pass a post-offer MVR lookup.
Have the physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods.
Be able to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Have the visual perception needed for the job, including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Be able to perform repetitive movements.
Be able to work in variable temperatures, including cold and hot conditions.

Nice To Haves

Previous delivery driving experience in a customer-facing environment.
Experience completing high-volume delivery routes in residential areas.
Strong customer service experience and the ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers in their homes.
Experience working independently while meeting productivity and on-time delivery expectations.
Experience in roles requiring frequent driving, time management, and direct customer interaction.

Responsibilities

Safely operate the company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
Load meals into the company vehicle at the designated cold storage facility.
Deliver meals to clients, often taking meals into their homes.
Call clients when delivery issues arise or when necessary for the region.
Accurately and consistently record deliveries using the MMHD delivery application.
Follow food sanitation and food safety procedures consistently.
Provide excellent customer service to clients.
Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment in a safe operating manner.
Immediately report equipment failures and vehicle damage to a supervisor so repairs can be scheduled.
Assist with vehicle and driver audits.
Ensure deliveries comply with established protocols.
