About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a full-time Home Centre Clerk II for its Ave C Home location in Saskatoon, SK. This role reports to the Hardware Manager and is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing a designated section of the sales floor, and assisting with various operational procedures. The ideal candidate will be service-oriented, motivated, and possess strong knowledge of hardware and building materials.

Requirements

  • Strongly service-oriented and motivated.
  • Capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics, and training sessions.
  • Sufficient experience of Hardware and Building materials to effectively operate in all areas of the department.
  • Specialized knowledge and a minimum of two years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, heating, paint, or tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including: lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, professional approach and attitude.
  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts.
  • Provide excellent customer service by building trusted relationships through knowledge, guidance, and support to promote merchandise sales and meet customer needs.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the Home Centre as directed by management.
  • Train team members in the general operation of assigned sections under management direction.
  • Assume responsibility for a designated section of the sales floor, including merchandising standards, inventory control, and ordering.
  • Inform customers about, search for, and submit special orders using the special order procedure.
  • Review and act on system reports pertaining to the section in collaboration with the Supervisor and/or management.
  • Assist in processing customer returns.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
