About The Position

Builders Supply is the Midwest’s largest independently owned lumberyard, owned 100% by its employees. For more than 70 years, Builders Supply has provided service to contractors and the public for all of their commercial and residential building needs. This role performs a variety of warehouse and home center tasks including operating a forklift to move product and material, as well as assisting customers and creating work orders.

Requirements

Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of company products/inventory available
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to read and understand invoices and requisitions
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (physical, drug test and lifting test)
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
Minimally must be able to lift >25 pounds without assistance

Responsibilities

Assists customers with sales orders and loading of product.
Reviews materials loaded against invoice or requisition; completes and routes paperwork appropriately.
Moves product/material ensuring placement in correct areas.
Ensures product/material is well stocked of inventory at all times.
Performs routine clean-up of yard.
Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers.
