About The Position

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with a Cert 3 in Individual Support (Ageing, Aged Care) and minimum 3 - 6 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in Ballina and surrounding suburbs.

Requirements

• Cert 3 in Individual Support (Ageing, Aged Care)
• Minimum 3 - 6 months experience in a similar professional role
• Experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
• A valid Australian Driver's Licence
• Own insured, roadworthy vehicle

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
