About The Position
FlexStaff is seeking a full-time field Registered Nurse for a multi-service home care organization. The nurse conducts visits to patients’ homes in Brooklyn, New York, helping patients maintain their independence. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling 38.5 hours per week. The nurse manages a caseload of 20–25 patients per week and creates their own schedule. The role involves delivering home health services, monitoring and documenting patient conditions, administering prescribed medications, providing wound care and patient and family education, coordinating with members of the care team, and offering palliative care. The position is permanent and full-time. Salary may vary based on experience and qualifications; the posting does not provide a specific salary range.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current registration in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- At least 6 months of inpatient nursing care experience.
Responsibilities
- Travel to patients’ homes to administer healthcare services and help patients maintain their independence.
- Assess and chart observations of each patient’s condition at every visit.
- Complete evaluation tasks, including reviewing medications and vital signs.
- Administer physician-prescribed medication.
- Dress or redress wounds and assess healing progress.
- Educate patients and families on appropriate home health care procedures and strategies.
- Coordinate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other individuals involved in the patient’s care plan.
- Keep patients comfortable through palliative care.
- Recommend tools or devices that may improve patients’ quality of life.
