Home Care Occupational Therapist- Part Time (Union County)
About The Position
Ignite Rehab, operating as part of Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy, is seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to provide part-time in-home care in Union County, New Jersey. The position involves approximately 20 visits per week, with a flexible schedule. Occupational Therapists at all experience levels are encouraged to apply; the organization is willing to train a new graduate. A mentor will provide support with documentation and compliance. The role requires treating geriatric patients and traveling to patients’ homes within the assigned territory. Requirements
- Graduate of an Occupational Therapist program.
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in New Jersey or eligible for licensure.
- First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications.
- Ability to travel to patients’ homes within the assigned geographic territory.
- Strong communication skills with patients, support staff, and management, including timely responses via text, email, and phone.
- Willingness to treat geriatric patients.
Nice To Haves
- Home health experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Accept and treat patients within the designated geographic area.
- Provide one-to-one treatment.
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
- Deliver care in accordance with professional standards, agency policies, and the prescribed plan of care.
- Educate family members, home health aides, and other caregivers on proper therapy techniques.
- Plan and carry out occupational therapy programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical function, relieve pain, and prevent occupational dysfunction.
- Perform and document initial examinations, evaluate findings, identify problems, and determine a diagnosis before intervention.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation for each visit.
- Evaluate treatment effects at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
