Home Care CNA: Part-Time
About The Position
The Home Care Participant Care Assistant (CNA) provides in-home care and assistance to participants enrolled in the PACE program. Working closely with the Home Care Supervisor, the role delivers compassionate, person-centered care and supports activities of daily living. The position is based in St. Joseph, Michigan, and involves regular travel providing home-based care in Berrien County. The schedule is 24 hours per week: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday, plus one weekday shift. Wednesday is preferred for the weekday shift, though it may be negotiable based on availability. The listed compensation is $19.38–$21.39 per hour. The duties listed are a summary and are not necessarily exhaustive; a full job description will be provided if selected.
Requirements
- One year of prior experience assisting frail or elderly individuals with activities of daily living.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Completion of the Participant Care Assistant (PCA) program at PACE of Southwest Michigan or an equivalent training program if not a Certified Nurse Assistant.
- Current CPR or BLS certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Assist participants with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Help participants with meals and hydration.
- Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
- Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake and output.
- Assist with housekeeping tasks such as laundry, sweeping, and grocery shopping.
- Respond to participants’ care needs with kindness and compassion.
- Report changes in participants’ conditions to leadership promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect and professionalism.
