About The Position

San Diego’s St. Paul's PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) serves individuals 55 years or older with chronic illnesses or disabilities who require coordinated medical care to live independently. The healthcare teams provide a hands-on approach, coordinating medical, social, and home care services. This position is ideal for CNAs or Caregivers looking to build relationships and assist PACE participants in their homes. Reliable transportation is required as the role involves constant travel to participant homes using your own vehicle. The service areas include Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, Fallbrook, and Escondido in North County San Diego. Shifts available include Part-time AM and PM, Part-time PM for weekdays and weekends, and Full-time AM and PM.

Requirements

Successful completion of First Aid and CPR training in person with the American Heart Association.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
For CNAs, current California CNA certification.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
If CNA, completion of formal CNA training program.
A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required.
Shall have either training or related experience in the job assigned.
Shall be in good mental and physical health, and capable of performing assigned tasks.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling and reaching at arm’s length and overhead in community for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to transfer participants needing one maximum assist.
Must be able to make home visits to participants who live in non-handicapped accessible dwellings.
Requires the ability to lift/carry up to 65 pounds and push or pull objects exceeding 150 pounds, using appropriate body mechanics.
Must be able to clear fingerprints through DOJ and FBI in addition to a drug screen clearance.
