About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care is hiring dependable caregivers, CNAs, and HHAs for home care opportunities in the Jacksonville, St. Johns, Julington Creek, and surrounding areas. This is a W-2 employee position, not a 1099 contractor role or registry position. We are a locally owned home care agency operated by a husband and wife team who are actively involved and accessible. Our office team works to communicate clearly with caregivers, focusing on strong communication, realistic scheduling, and long-term relationships with dependable caregivers. Home care schedules depend on client needs and can include part-time and full-time schedules, weekday and weekend shifts, daytime and evening shifts, some overnight opportunities, and minimum 4-hour shifts, with longer 8-hour and 12-hour shifts available when possible. Overtime opportunities are also available. We work to keep caregivers reasonably close to home while matching based on skills, availability, client needs, and travel distance. Typical pay is $16 to $18 per hour, with higher rates possible for select assignments.

Requirements

  • Active Florida CNA license or HHA certificate
  • Successful Level II Background Screening
  • Recent TB screening
  • Classroom CPR certification
  • HIV/AIDS training
  • Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias training
  • Assistance with Self-Administration of Medication training
  • Reliable transportation to client homes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional, dependable, and caring attitude

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and daily living support to help clients remain safe and comfortable at home.
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide transfers and mobility support.
  • Prepare meals.
  • Perform light housekeeping related to the client.
  • Offer companionship and conversation.
  • Provide medication reminders.
  • Assist with errands or appointments when included in the care plan.
  • Report changes or concerns to the office.
