Home Care Aide (Russian-Speaking)
About The Position
IOA is seeking Russian-speaking Home Care Aides to join their team and support older adults, including Holocaust survivors and their families, through Jewish Family Services in Santa Clara. This role is described as more than a job, offering a chance to honor history, support dignity, and ensure elders receive the respect and care they deserve. The position involves directly helping family members and community caregivers provide daily support while being compensated for the time, care, and dedication brought to the role. The organization aims to help aging adults and adults with disabilities maintain their quality of life through innovative healthcare models.
Requirements
- Previous caregiving or home care aide experience is required.
- Must pass background clearance (Live Scan), TB test, and health screening.
- Ability to lift 35lbs or more with proper use of body mechanics – training provided
- Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, reach, bend, walk, maneuver, and reposition.
Nice To Haves
- Russian-speaking preferred.
- A genuine interest in supporting older adults with dignity and patience.

Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance).
- Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients and families.
- Help clients remain safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible in their homes.
- Communicate with supervisors about client needs and changes in condition.
- Participate in training and follow all safety, health, and compliance requirements.
