About The Position

To provide compassionate caring services to clients with developmental disabilities and/or senior care. This role involves assisting clients with daily living skills, providing protective supervision, and supporting families with household tasks and meal preparation. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work independently while maintaining professional boundaries.

Requirements

  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal).
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be physically and mentally capable of caring for an individual who is ill, infirm, disabled or vulnerable, including lifting or transferring clients and dealing with combative behaviors safely.
  • Understanding of professional boundaries.
  • Must pass a Washington State background check.
  • Maintain active WA Driver License and Auto Insurance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (documentation required).
  • Complete and pass the background check screening upon hire and every two years thereafter, or as requested.
  • Maintain active Certified Home Care Aide (HCA Training Available) and Nurse Delegation and other required certifications.
  • Complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annually.

Responsibilities

  • Caring for a child/adult with special needs or a senior requiring care and assistance or companionship (non-medical services).
  • Implementing assigned clients' Plan of Care.
  • Assisting with daily living skills including feeding, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, transferring, and positioning.
  • Assisting families with housekeeping, shopping, and meal planning/preparation.
  • Providing transportation for clients.
  • Responsible for protective supervision, ensuring client safety and guidance.
  • Reporting accurate hours worked and duties performed on approved time sheets.
  • Submitting legible and accurate timesheets by the first of every month.
  • Maintaining a clear understanding of SAILS Washington policy and procedures.
