Responsible for caring for a child/adult with special needs who cannot perform certain daily living skills without assistance as a result of their disability or a senior requiring care and assistance or companionship. These will be non-medical services. Implementing assigned clients “Plan of Care” and providing assistance with daily living skills which could include feeding, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, transferring, and positioning. Also responsible for assisting families with housekeeping, shopping, meal planning, and preparation, and providing transportation. Responsible for protective supervision, being available to provide safety, guidance, and protection to the client who cannot be left alone due to impaired judgment. When performing Community First Choice (CFC) work, tasks are to be performed within the bounds of the client’s current living situation unless otherwise stated in the Client Plan of Care. When providing Respite Care, care may be performed either within or outside the client’s current living situation at a predetermined, appropriate community location, unless otherwise determined by the guardian.
