About The Position

The Home Cafe Host/Hostess is responsible for managing the flow of the restaurant, seating guests, maintaining a waitlist, and providing a positive and welcoming experience for all customers. This role requires regular and reliable attendance, proper uniform maintenance, and adherence to all safety and health standards. The position involves customer interaction, answering questions about the menu and operations, and assisting with cleaning and daily side work. Additionally, the host/hostess will be responsible for balancing the register drawer at the end of each shift and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent is preferred.
  • No previous experience is required; however, prior knowledge or experience within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment is desirable.
  • Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance, punctuality, and consistent presence during scheduled work hours.
  • Wear and maintain uniforms properly, including a gaming license if applicable.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with customers and employees.
  • Manage the flow of the restaurant by seating guests according to server rotation.
  • Maintain an accurate waitlist and notify guests when their table is ready using a pager.
  • Answer customer questions about the restaurant, menu, and casino operations accurately.
  • Present a positive and welcoming image to all customers and employees.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards, internal policies, and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
  • Assist with cleaning tables and performing other directed responsibilities.
  • Complete daily side work, including sanitizing menus.
  • Balance the register drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other duties, including special projects, as needed or directed.
