About The Position

In addition, we offer opportunities for career growth and professional development. The Hog Receiver is responsible for coordinating the movement of livestock from the receiving area to holding pens. The Hog Receiver must adhere to PQA, TQA, and other Animal Welfare expectations for the safe handling of hogs and safety of people around them.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize daily work assignments and manage time wisely.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the agriculture industry, preferred.
- Computer literacy knowledge including: all aspects of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receives, unloads and sorts hogs according to quality and weight.
- Identifies (tattoo), scales, moves and accurately counts livestock, including any dead or non-ambulatory animals.
- Moves hogs from trucks to holding pens.
- Monitors yard and truck conditions according to corporate and government standards to ensure livestock are handled properly.
- Performs livestock handling animal welfare audits.
- Processes outgoing livestock.
- Communicates clearly with team members and management team.
- Completes PQA, TQA, and other training as deemed necessary for role.
