About The Position
Come work at our new state of the art ice & athletics facility. We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and hockey-knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Hockey Supervisor. This position directly oversees Learn-to-Play-Hockey classes, as well as Public Skate staff. Participants will range in age from two through adult. Skill levels will range from first-time skaters through advanced curriculum levels. This position will be responsible for teaching the students how to skate/play, while following all rules and policies as set forth by the Park District and the Oakton Facility Manager.
Requirements
- A background in skating and/or hockey and a comfort on the ice as it relates to skating and hockey-specific skills.
- Must have an approved coaching certification or be able to acquire it within 6 months of hire.
- Must be CPR/AED and first-aid certified or have the ability to become certified (through our district) within 90 days of employment.
- Must have a working knowledge of school age children’s developmental stages and behavioral techniques, as well as Oakton’s skating developmental techniques or the ability and willingness to learn.
