About The Position

As a Hockey Game Monitor at SportsMedia Technology (SMT), you will monitor live NHL game feeds and statistics to help ensure hockey data is accurately presented. You will work from SMT’s live game hub in its Jacksonville, Florida office during the 2026/27 NHL season. You must be available whenever NHL games are played, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with availability required on Tuesday and Thursday evenings or nights and weekends. You will report to the hub one hour before puck drop for assigned games; shifts typically last 5–7 hours. You will collaborate with league operations and technical staff and communicate game activities and issues to SMT colleagues and NHL personnel. This is a part-time opportunity with flexible scheduling. Game shifts are generally at night or on weekends. The role may also provide opportunities to support sports beyond hockey and the NHL as SMT’s services expand.

Requirements

Knowledge of and passion for hockey gameplay, rules, and statistics.
Experience with and understanding of Windows-based applications.
Basic knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and standard applications.
Ability to view numerous monitors and games simultaneously.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Availability to work regularly on nights, weekends, and holidays, including Tuesday and Thursday evenings or nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Report to SMT’s live game hub one hour before puck drop for assigned games.
Monitor multiple live NHL game feeds and related statistics to ensure scores and game information are represented accurately.
Review and monitor designated websites, league databases, and live game feeds.
Relay and summarize game activities to SMT colleagues and hockey personnel.
Report issues promptly to NHL leads and technicians.
Collaborate with league operations and technical staff to ensure hockey data is accurate and ready for presentation.
Maintain a positive and collaborative environment among game monitors and SMT personnel.
