About The Position

First Western Bank has a full-time opening for a HMDA Specialist. This role is responsible for the documentation and tracking of Bank information to meet the requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). The HMDA Specialist ensures HMDA worksheets, loan documentation, and files are complete, accurate, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position will also assist with procedure development within the lending area, as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or financial industry experience
  • Analytical mindset and unbiased evaluation of facts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey information to diverse audiences
  • Detail-oriented, able to complete assigned work thoroughly and accurately
  • Strong understanding and expertise in financial matters both internal and external to the bank
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in a way that promotes mutual respect and trust
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving complex problems using analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Able to locate and gather accurate information from various credible sources
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve common goals
  • Possess a specialized skill set
  • Highly organized and efficient, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Open to new ideas, seeks opportunities to expand knowledge and skills, actively participates in training programs, and seeks feedback to enhance performance
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook), and social media platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lending and/or HMDA policy and procedures preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and supporting the bank’s HMDA reporting and documentation processes
  • Ensure HMDA data collection is accurate and complete; loan documentation is accurate and compliant, ensuring that all applicable regulations are met
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of lending procedures and resources
  • Assist in the review and coordinating of bank’s lending denial process; ensure appropriate denials are recorded for HMDA reporting
  • Assist in various consumer lending tracking and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with banking laws, regulations, and the Bank’s policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Maintain continuing education related to regulatory standards
