About The Position
The role of a floater is one of a helper. The following is a list of what is expected of a floater in the classrooms.
Requirements
- Must meet all requirements pertaining to a physical exam within the year of start date, which includes a negative tuberculin test, fingerprinting, and a background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the room assigned as needed
- Be flexible and calm
- Supervise play activities, participate in group games, help with art projects and assist children in self-help activities.
- Learn and follow all safety rules (including but not limited to, diaper changing procedures, toilet learning, hand-washing practices, food service practices and cleaning practices).
- Assist in preparing supplies and the environment for both planned and unplanned activities.
- Engage in meaningful conversations with children during meal times.
- Assist in outdoor activities during all kinds of weather.
- Be a teammate to other teachers.
- Be energetic, warm, and cheerful.
