About The Position

This position requires less than 1 year of experience and is for a Histotechnologist. The role involves working with various laboratory systems and equipment.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience.
• BLS certification.
• Registry as Histology Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Experience with LIS and HIS computer systems.
• Experience with tissue processor, embedding center, automatic stainer, automated coverslipper, analytic balance, automated microtome, microwave, microscope, telephone, tissue floatation bath, volumetric glassware, cryostat and recycler.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate LIS and HIS computer systems.
• Utilize tissue processor, embedding center, automatic stainer, and automated coverslipper.
• Use analytic balance, automated microtome, microwave, and microscope.
• Handle telephone communication.
• Work with tissue floatation bath, volumetric glassware, cryostat, and recycler.
• Lift up to 40 lbs.
