Histotechnologist I - Cincinnati, OH, Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. This role involves performing routine and non-routine activities in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s), according to policies and procedures. The Histotechnologist I is capable of performing all the duties and responsibilities of a Histotechnician I and II. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper accessioning and labeling of tissue samples, processing associated paperwork, ensuring proper tissue processing, embedding processed tissue in paraffin, performing microtomy of embedded tissue, preparing slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining, and performing cover slipping of stained slides. Additionally, the role involves preparing solutions and reagents for special stain and IHC procedures, obtaining and validating tissue for these procedures, performing all special stain procedures, and potentially performing IHC testing. The position also includes filing finished blocks and slides, performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, troubleshooting minor equipment failures, documenting remedial actions, adhering to laboratory's quality control policies, ensuring corporate safety, quality control, and quality assurance standards are met, and ensuring compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
