About The Position

The Histotechnician performs histology procedures at a technical level under the direction of a Pathologist. The role involves using independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to create microscopic slides for Pathologist review, as well as performing special stains and studies on tissue blocks and slides. The position follows standard clinic hours and does not involve night shifts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree that includes 30 semester hours of chemistry and biology, with credit hours in both subjects, or an associate degree that includes 12 semester hours of chemistry and biology, with credit hours in both subjects.
• Certification as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician (ASCP [HT] or ASCP [HTL]).

• Previous work as a Histotechnologist is preferred.
