About The Position

The Histotechnician performs histology procedures under the direction of a Pathologist. The role involves carrying out technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to create microscopic slides for Pathologist review, as well as performing special stains and studies on tissue blocks and slides. The position follows standard clinic hours and does not involve night shifts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree including 30 semester hours of chemistry and biology, with credits in both subjects; or an associate degree including 12 semester hours of chemistry and biology, with credits in both subjects.
• Certification as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician (ASCP [HT] or ASCP [HTL]).

• Previous work as a Histotechnologist is preferred.
