About The Position
The Histotechnician is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, with primary responsibilities in tissue embedding, microtomy, specimen preparation, and general histology laboratory operations. The technician ensures high-quality tissue sections are produced in a timely manner while following laboratory quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Associate degree or completion of at least two years of college coursework in biology, chemistry, medical laboratory science, or a related science field is preferred.
- Three years of direct experience in histology lab including histotechnician duties is preferred.
- Histotechnician (HT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification is preferred.
