About The Position

The Histotechnician 2 prepares tissue specimens for microscopic examination in the Department of Anatomic Pathology, with occasional guidance. The position handles a high-volume workload and stat requests, performs equipment maintenance, maintains departmental records, and keeps supplies at acceptable levels. Daily work includes embedding, cutting, and staining tissue specimens. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Histotechnologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned daily workload, including embedding, cutting, and staining tissue specimens.
• Perform and document routine equipment maintenance.
• Maintain departmental records as assigned.
• Maintain department supplies at acceptable levels.
• Handle high-volume workload and stat requests.
• Provide informal guidance and support to team members.
