About The Position

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the History Student Worker must be willing to complete tasks as needed for the Department of History faculty and staff. Some classroom work such as taking attendance, entering grades, etc., may be expected. General office duties such as data entry and filing may be expected as well. Student workers will also assist with guest speakers, events, and presentations. Student workers may also be chosen to staff the Chaplains Museum. Students may be scheduled up to 18 hours per week but are not guaranteed 18 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Must be a History or Social Sciences major.

Responsibilities

  • Punctuality and professionalism expected.
  • Must work at minimum 12 hours per week.
  • Teaching Assistant: perform any tasks assigned by the professor and respect all confidentiality policies.
  • First Impressions staff: work with any visitors in a welcoming and courteous manner, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Chaplains Museum staff: develop knowledge of the exhibits, capably lead tours, and do any research work requested by the Museum Director.
  • Adhere to the provided History Department Student Worker Policies and to all Liberty University policies, representing the University and department in an exemplary manner.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
