Histology Technician

This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI), and employees will be trained on reasonable safeguards and are expected to maintain strict confidentiality.
Requirements
- Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory technology
- 1 year of experience in grossing, preferred.
- Candidates who can gross skin specimens seriously considered.
Responsibilities
- Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling.
- Perform gross description and dissection of specimens received.
- Maintain the integrity of the specimen and patient identification.
- Describe gross anatomic features of routine, uncomplicated surgical specimens, ensuring that all lesions, marking and sutures are mentioned.
