About The Position

Monitors the technical functions within histology. These functions include but are not limited to quality of work, procedures and methods, and expenses. Perform the duties of a staff histotechnician. The Histology Technician possesses excellent interpersonal skills, problem identification and resolution abilities. The Histology Technician assures laboratories compliance in meeting the standards set forth by JCAHO, DHEC, CLIA and College of American Pathologist (CAP).

Requirements

  • Associates degree from an accredited college/university.
  • HT(ASCP) certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or equivalent preferred, however, if not certified, must have completed a NACCLS Accredited HT/HTL Program and be certification eligible.
  • Certification must be achieved within 1 year of hire.
