About The Position

The Histology Tech supports patient care by performing histology techniques used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, helping meet laboratory turnaround-time and patient-care goals. The role performs histology processing—including embedding, microtomy, and manual or automated staining—in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation requirements, and organizes work to complete assignments within scheduled timeframes.

This registry position works according to department needs, filling in for employees on vacation or planned leave and during periods of high volume. It includes covering shifts during holidays.

Requirements

• Previous histology experience, including cutting, embedding, and special staining.
• High school diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
• 1–2 years of previous job-related experience.
• Experience cutting and embedding.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or equivalent training acquired through work experience or education.
• Registered Histotechnician (ASCP) certification.
